June 2007 “Augsburg Meetings” this time in Kassel
Art and discussions with colleagues at the documenta
There is hardly a more important date for art lovers in 2007 than the documenta XII. The twelfth edition of the globally respected art exhibition opened its gates in Kassel starting on 16 June. Hauserconsulting exclusively attended to there by the exhibition management at a VIP event, which is why the “Augsburg Meetings” were an ‘away match’ this time. “Cultural enjoyment and friendly exchange cannot be better combined that at the annual meeting with our clients”, says Eberhard Hauser.

April 2007 Consultant training
This is how you yourself can become a coach
The dozen is full: At the end of April, the twelfth group started their in-service training “Systemic Consulting and Coaching” at hauserconsulting. Independent consultants, HR specialists and managers learn the fundamentals of coaching in several block seminars distributed over the course of 18 months. The further training provides the equipment for specific consultation and development of people in organisations via many theoretical and practical exercises. The objective is not merely to learn the most important tools for successful coaching, but above all to develop themselves as a personality, and to establish a clear consulting profile. In the meantime, a lively network of “former participants” has evolved. The alumni seminars – selforganised or organised by hauserconsulting – continually pursue exchange of views. New professional perspectives have ensued for many participants as a result of this network. Another tangible advantage: The fee for admission into the German Federal Coaching Association (DBVC) has been substantially reduced for our graduates, because the further vocational training has been certified by the association. You can obtain info telephonically or at www.hauserconsulting.com. On account of the keen interest, the next training group will already start in the autumn.

March 2007 Fugger consulting: Homage to the great merchant
Such a theatre
He was one of the richest men in the world, and transformed Augsburg into a global player in Europe at the end of the 15th century. The Augsburg theatre “S’ensemble” has produced a brilliant one-man play in honour of medieval merchant Jakob Fugger. In “Jakob Fugger Consulting”, the 500 yearold protagonist – now in the backdrop of his own empire – tries to help his hometown to once again achieve world-class ranking. The play’s nomenclatural proximity to hauserconsulting is a coincidence, but author and director Sebastian Seidel obtained info about the consulting sector from Eberhard Hauser and his colleagues. Inspired by the idea of the work, hauserconsulting sponsored the theatrical success.

February 2007 Management feedback
Faster path to self-knowledge
An ancient Chinese wise saying says: “Whoever possesses knowledge of human nature is good; whoever posses self-knowledge is enlightened”. This is more up-to-date today than ever before: Because most managers know everything about the strengths and weaknesses of their employees. But on the other hand, they very rarely reflect upon themselves. In order to make this easy, hauserconsulting also offers an effective and simple tool. During the course of manager feedback, managers assess their own qualifications (self-image); at the same time, the employees (and occasionally also colleagues and clients) provide their external image of this individual in an online questionnaire. For instance, the questions deal with his strategic abilities, communicative and social competencies (“How goaloriented do meetings proceed?”) or his attitude vis-à-vis his team. “Since no questionnaires are to be filled out in the firm, but every respondent logs onto our homepage, anonymity is guaranteed”, says Martin Hagen. The evaluated manager receives feedback after an evaluation of self-image and external image. After that the results are discussed with the team, whereby external support is often utilised for moderation. “In many business enterprises, motivation and communication have become much better through this tool”, says Hagen, adding, “Conflicts have subsided, and the manager has noticeably further developed in terms of personal effectiveness.”

December 2006 “Zeitsicht” art award
Award winners get ahead
hauserconsulting has already presented its art award five times – and obviously proven farsightedness with regard to all “Zeitsicht” (“Time View”) winners. Because nearly all go their successful way as painters or photographers: Dirk Brömmel (award winner in 2002) and Anna Kling (2003) are listed at the renowned Lumas Gallery, Svenja Maaß (2004) has produced widely respected exhibitions in North Germany, and Michael Grudziecki (2005) is meanwhile a scholarship holder at the “Fondacion Mirò” in Barcelona. In the meantime, fledgling artist Julia Wegat (first distinguished by hauserconsulting at the end of 2006) is working on two new painting cycles. The next “Zeitsicht” conferral will take place in December 2007.
